Saraswati from Berhampur, worked as an accountant for 18 years before she resigned to invest her time & effort in taking care of her family, especially children. She started her online business in August 2019 but soon after that, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Treatment had made her body and mind so weak that she was not in a position to do anything. That is when she took it all as a challenge and decided to fight back. She began her online business and it started expanding beyond her imagination. Now she is a proud entrepreneur who helps her husband in managing household expenses. She insists on finding opportunities amid difficulties and wants to inspire many more women like her who are close to giving up in life.
Rashida from Indore, started her online business a couple of years ago. She has battled in opposition to society’s criticism against childlessness. She was always put down since she couldn’t have a baby. She underwent depression for quite some time before starting her online business. Very few women from her community (Bohra) come out to work and it has been a really challenging choice for her to start a business of her own. She feels proud of her decision and aims to keep fulfilling her dream to achieve the most of what she has been blessed with in this lifetime.
Namrata from Varanasi, was doing a job in Delhi before getting married and relocating to Varanasi. It was really difficult for her to find a suitable job in Varanasi when she had a lot of commitments towards her new born baby and the rest of the family. She started her social entrepreneurial journey in 2017. She not only sells through social channels but also runs a website of her own. Her business strategy involves a strategic framework that focuses on deep understanding of her customers to know and understand their needs better than anyone else.
Sharu from Chennai, has been a homemaker for 21 years now though a spirit to achieve something more of her own has always been there. It was her kids who introduced her to the idea of online business. She took it as a challenge, choosing to move forward and savouring the journey. Going out to work wasn’t a very feasible option for her, so this is something that motivated her to make the most out of working from home. She feels immensely proud of herself for being her own boss and intends to keep working hard in the same direction. Today, she is a successful social entrepreneur who is blessed with countless happy customers across the country.
